Privacy policy

AskScope provides AI visibility monitoring and optimization tools for marketing teams. The provider of the AskScope service is referred to in this policy as “AskScope,” “we,” “us,” or “our.” This policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect information when you visit our website, create an account, purchase or use the service, connect a third-party channel, or communicate with us.

1. Scope and our role

This policy applies to website visitors, registered users, customer representatives, subscribers, and other people who interact with AskScope. It does not govern independent AI platforms, publishers, media networks, payment providers, or other third-party services, which operate under their own privacy notices.

Where applicable law uses terms such as controller, business, or personal information processor, the AskScope service provider acts in that role for the processing described in this policy. A customer may separately control information it instructs AskScope to process on its behalf.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use AskScope, we may collect:

Account and contact information: name, work email, company, account settings, support requests, and communications.
Workspace information: brand, website, industry, markets, competitors, prompts, monitoring settings, and team instructions.
Monitoring and analysis information: AI answers, mentions, relative positions, citations, source URLs, competitor observations, report results, recommendations, tasks, content drafts, distribution activity, and retest results.
Connected-service information: account identifiers, authorization details, publishing settings, submitted content, delivery status, and published URLs required to operate a connection you choose.
Transaction information: plan, billing period, amount, currency, payment status, transaction identifier, and limited billing details received from a payment provider. AskScope does not need to store complete payment-card numbers.
Technical and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, requested pages, access time, referring page, service events, diagnostic logs, and security signals.
Public information: publicly available brand, company, website, source-page, citation, and AI-answer information needed to provide monitoring and competitive analysis.

3. How we collect information

We collect information directly from you, automatically when you use the website or service, from third-party services you choose to connect, from payment and infrastructure providers, and from public websites or AI-generated answers relevant to the monitoring scope you configure.

4. How we use information

We use information to:

create, secure, and administer accounts and workspaces;
generate and manage prompts and run AI visibility monitoring;
provide competitor, citation, source, and trend analysis;
generate reports, recommendations, optimization tasks, content briefs, and articles;
operate connected publishing, media submission, distribution, and retesting workflows;
process subscriptions, maintain billing records, and provide customer support;
maintain reliability, diagnose errors, prevent fraud or abuse, and protect the service;
communicate service, security, billing, policy, and support information; and
understand and improve product performance using aggregated or de-identified information.

Where required, we rely on performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, or your consent. We do not use workspace content to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about an individual.

5. Website analytics and cookies

With your permission, AskScope uses Google Analytics to understand visits, referral sources, approximate region, browser and device categories, and interactions such as CTA and pricing selections. The Google tag is not downloaded until you allow analytics. You can decline or later change this choice through “Analytics settings” in the footer.

We do not intentionally send form contents, email addresses, names, customer website data, monitored prompts, AI answers, or other workspace content to Google Analytics. Advertising storage, Google signals, and advertising personalization are disabled. AskScope does not use analytics data for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. How we share information

We may share information with providers that support hosting, authentication, security, payment processing, customer support, AI-platform monitoring, analytics, and connected publishing or distribution. They may process information only to perform the relevant service or as otherwise allowed by their terms and applicable law.

If you instruct AskScope to connect an account, submit content, or publish through a third-party channel, we transmit the information needed to complete that instruction. The third party's own terms and privacy notice govern its independent use of the information. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect AskScope or others, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.

AskScope does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. Payment processing

The payment provider shown during checkout may process transaction, device, network, and billing information under its own privacy notice. AskScope uses transaction results and related records to activate plans, maintain accounts, prevent payment abuse, and resolve billing or support disputes.

8. Storage, international transfers, and retention

AskScope service data is stored in Singapore. AskScope and its service providers may access or process information in other countries. Those countries may have different privacy laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual protections, and obtain any consent required by applicable law.

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain account and business records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, comply with law, and protect the service. The period depends on the information, its purpose, sensitivity, and legal requirements. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably needed.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, disclosure, or alteration. No transmission or storage method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, or the People's Republic of China, applicable law may give you rights to know how information is processed, obtain a copy, correct it, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, receive portable information, withdraw consent, opt out of a sale or sharing, and complain to a competent authority.

We may verify your identity before completing a request. Some information may be retained where permitted or required for security, fraud prevention, billing, dispute resolution, and recordkeeping. We respond within the period required by applicable law and do not discriminate against a person for exercising a legally protected privacy right.

11. Children

AskScope is a business service intended for adults and is not directed to children. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child without the authorization required by law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service, our practices, or legal requirements change. We will publish the updated policy on this page and revise the effective date. If a change materially affects how personal information is used, we will provide additional notice where required.
